Social Marketing brilliance: The Last Exorcism

With almost 300,000 views already on YouTube, here’s a truly clever bit of social media marketing, this time using ChatRoulette. If you’re not yet familiar with Chatroulette, it’s a site which simply connects you on your webcam to another random person anywhere else in the world so you can chat and exchange instant messages. As you can imagine, teens love the site, as well as voyeurs and some pretty creepy people too.

The people behind The Last Exorcism movie saw this as an opportunity. Take a look at the video below to see what they did. The clever part? Packaging up this ’best of’ video and sharing it online to reach a vast audience for next to zero cost. Now that’s social marketing brilliance!

WARNING: Viewer discretion advised: strong language and scary bits!
